Soap Making – Chunk Soap

How to Make Chunk soap

Chunk soap is a decorative bar that is easy to make once you have the basic cold process recipe down pat.  It can also be a good way to use all those soap offcuts that lying around after trimming your blocks of soap.

In our version we add a little titanium dioxide to add a white canvas to the coloured chunks.  We feel that it brings the soap to life visually.  We also add a fruity fragrance oil which also enhances the senses during use.

Curing time for this soap is about 4 weeks and it will make a bigger bar than normal due to the additional pieces.

This variation can be made using most of our basic soap making kits and our titanium dioxide pigment.

If you have some old bars lying around, this chunk soap would be a great way of using them up!
