The double boiler with wax melting jug is used by placing the wax melting jug into the larger pot. The larger pot should be filled with hot water into which the wax melting jug is placed to slowly melt the wax. Using this method prevents the wax from igniting which would happen if it was directly heated on the stove top. The wax also melts at an even temperature, which can then be poured into a plastic mixing jug to combine your colours and fragrance oils.
