Introduction to Soap Making - Melt and Pour

The Melt and Pour Soap course is a great introduction to the world of soap making.  Melt and Pour soap is the easiest method of soap making and during this workshop, you will learn how to make fun, colourful, fragrant bars that can be used the next day!!

Keep them plain or add botanicals, clays, and exfoliants.  The choice is yours.  You will make and take home 10 bars/guest soaps including one fantastic goat milk bar, plus the remaining soap base, totalling 1kg in weight.

Also included in your kit to take home are a silicone mould and 4 guest soap moulds, Colouring mixing chart, and an instruction booklet covering everything you’ve learnt during the workshop.

Soap making supplies will be available for purchase after the class.

Beginners Soap Making Course – Cold Process

Sunday 27th May 2018 10 am to 1 pm

During our Beginners Soap Making Course, you will learn to make your own soap with the right balance of bubbles, creaminess & moisturiser, which is free from harmful ingredients.

The class begins with a safety brief, then students watch a soap making demonstration where you will be stepped through the process of making a 1kg block of soap using vegetable oils, water, caustic soda, with fragrance oil and colour.

Then you get to choose your fragrance and colour and make your own soap under expert supervision. Once complete you take home your own creation of 1 kg of soap including a reusable wooden log mould (valued at $32.50). Before leaving, you will be shown how to cut your soap and how to cure it before use.

The class includes a fully comprehensive instruction booklet with our special soap recipe.

Advanced Soap Making Course – Cold Process

Sunday 24th June 2018 10 am to 1 pm

In this Advanced Soap Making Course you will learn:

How to layer different colours, create swirls and marbling techniques and how to use botanicals and exfoliants in your soaps.

Additionally, you will be shown how to add confetti, curls and chunks and embeds to your soaps.

Students will be given a choice of making a 1kg block of soap using any one of the following techniques, layering, swirls, marbling or a botanical or exfoliant soap block using Calendula petals or poppy seeds to take home with them.

You will be able to cut approximately 10-12 Bars from the block.

Comprehensive notes provided.  The course includes all materials, 1kg wooden log mould, fragrances, colours, basic botanicals and exfoliants.

Course Prerequisite: Must have completed the Beginners Soap making cold process course.

      Hi Jann, the soap making course dates will be released in the next couple of weeks. We are yet to receive confirmation back from the community centre we teach at. If you sign up for our newsletter, we will communicate the new dates via that medium.

    I attended your beginers soap making course a few months ago and thouroghly enjoyed it!
    I have a few questions if you could help me out with please?
    The recipe that we used in the workshop differs to the ingredient meausurements that you use on the youtube video for beginners?
    which recipe do i follow please?
    Can i just double the ingredients to make a double batch?
    When addind the clourant I dont recall measuring/weighing it out ? is yhis correct?

      Hi Grace, yes we have modified the recipe slightly just to fit into our new silicone loaf moulds. Yes you can double the ingredients to make a double batch. I will send you the new recipe via email. The liquid colour was not measured and was added to the soap batter a little at a time to achieve the desired shade.
