This Mesophilic Culture 5 pack can be used to make semi-hard cheese like Caerphilly, Cheddars, Colby, Wensleydale etc and can be used in place of Mesophilic MO30 if you are making small batches.
Mesophilic Culture (MW3) is a freeze dried mixed strain culture containing:
- Lactococcus lactis subsp. cremoris and
- Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis.
Mesophilic is a not a gas producing culture. If gas is desired, then use the Aromatic Mesophilic Culture.
Activity = 2.4 U.
Shelf life is 24 months when stored in freezer. This culture lasts out of the freezer (at room temperature) for 3 months so will be fine during postage. However, we suggest storing cultures in the freezer as soon as you get them in order to prolong the life of the culture.
